In the Cambodian culture there has been many changes throughout the centuries. The Cambodians’ were once Hinduism but as time went pass changed to Buddhism. Most of their religious statues were the biggest in the world and decorated in gold. So after finding out Tori was doing fine it was time for a Great Adventure.
After breakfast the group was ready to head to the once beautiful religious temples in the world. Anger Wat was known and built to resemble heaven. Before entering the temple we first had to cross over a bridge that was surrounded by a river. It was once said that the river was filled with crocodiles to keep bad spirits and company out. Our tour guide told passage that the next temple was what separated earth from heaven. Following that we finally walked to the temple of Angkor Wat. They say that the temple was covered in gold but looking closely at the walls and floor there was mostly mold and lots of holes. The temples look distraught and so I asked what happened. When Cambodia had civil war, North Vietnam used the temple as a battle ground and destroyed the temple. Cambodians were weak because it was there sacred grounds. Getting to learn more about the history was a Great Adventure truly.
